First Aid

In a country like Greece, where accidents during outdoor excursions are more frequent than those in war conflicts, it is reasonable to understand the need for specialization in dealing with and managing such critical situations. When an accident occurs, there is a considerable amount of time before the injured person reaches the hospital. This period can be crucial for survival, as the right first aid, transport and behaviour by those involved in the health sector can have a drastic impact on the future quality of life of the injured person. A rapid and effective response is essential and forms the basis of first aid.
